SOUTHFIELD, MICH (WXYZ) — The cities of Southfield, Oak Park and Oakland County Parks and Recreation proudly present the second annual music festival, Rhythm and Rhymes, featuring the best of R & B, Jazz, Gospel, Soul and Blues on Saturday, July 20 on “the green” at the Southfield Civic Center (26000 Evergreen, between 10 and 11 Miles in Southfield).

The free event was launched last year to great success and returns to “the green” again from 1 to 9 p.m., with musical artists from across the country. Performers include nationally known contemporary jazz diva, Maysa, gospel super stars the Rance Allen Group and legendary jazz flutist Alexander Zonjic and his band. Also performing are Detroit musical favorites Planet D Nonet, Beth Griffith-Manley and Ed Sterling Stone and the Flowmasters.
