If you ever went to see Pearl Django in concert at Bremerton’s Collective Visions Art Gallery over the years, you might well have thought — whether you were able to get in or not — they should be playing a bigger place.

Same goes for folks who saw jazz singer Gail Pettis at a couple of 2018 Kitsap gigs, the Within/Earshot Jazz Festival at the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art and a house concert-style shindig at a Poulsbo art studio.

Well someone, apparently, was listening. Collective Visions has combined the two acts into a 1-2 jazz punch for a Feb. 15 concert at the Roxy Theatre, a stone’s throw away from the gallery.

Pearl Django with Gail Pettis: “Flamingo”

release from  Collective Visions said, “With a performance history spanning 25 years and 14 CDs, Pearl Django endures as one of the most highly regarded Hot Club style groups working today as evidenced by receiving the Golden Ear Award for “Northwest Acoustic Jazz Ensemble of the Year” in 2018.

“Twice named “Northwest Vocalist of the Year” by Earshot Jazz Society, Seattle-based Gail Pettis is known for her rich and warm vocals described as “deliciously soulful by Cadence Magazine. In a relatively short time as a full-time jazz stylist, she has won critical acclaim and fans throughout various festivals in Japan and the Netherlands as well as won the hearts of audiences in the Seattle area. She records with Origin Records, JazzWeek Record Label of the Year in 2009.”
