Rochester-based indie-rock band Joywave will release its third album, Possession, March 13 and follow it with a nationwide tour starting April 18 at the Town Ballroom, 681 Main St., Buffalo.

The record, made at the group’s Rochester studio, features the singles “Like a Kennedy” (released last summer), “Half Your Age” (released Tuesday) and “Mr. Eastman.”

The 25-date Possession Tour schedule — which includes stops in Brooklyn, Nashville, Los Angeles and Cleveland — does not list a Rochester show. But it includes two concert locations to be announced for May 16 and 22. Tickets ($26 to$28) go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at Eventbrite.com.

Joywave also is headlining Rover’s Holiday Hangover Jan. 24 at the Dome Arena, 2695 East Henrietta Road, Henrietta. Tickets ($37.99) are available at Ticketmaster.com, the Dome box office, End Vape and the House of Guitars.

In a post on Eventbrite, band front man Daniel Armbruster says Possession “really focuses on control. It examines it on a broader societal level but also on a very personal level, like, how do I gain control over my own life and experiences?” He also says the record reflects the band’s live show — Joywave has played Lollapalooza, Coachella and Bumbershoot, among other major music fests — more than its first two releases, 2014’s How Do You Feel Now? and 2016’s Content.
