January 26, 2020 – New York
New Music coming your way from singer/pianist/composer Lauren Lee. Her work intentionally inhabits this place of “between”, and in Lee’s case, the “between” is nestled between where jazz has been and where jazz is going. Her work is praised for her virtuosic improvisational abilities on both piano and voice, as well as her emotional and harmonic prowess as a composer. Check out her new album, “Windowsill”, released 10/2019 on Ears and Eyes records. “Lee- in her voice and at the keyboard- is, in a very balanced way, presenting a unique approach, but one grounded enough to support the contrasting moods and musics, which really is what makes ‘Windowsill’ so engrossing” – Anthony Dean- Harris, DOWNBEAT Mag

At this talk, Wataru Kasahara from the International Tourism Division in Kanagawa, Dr. Rai Shimoyama, from internationally accredited Shonan Kamakura General Hospital and Dr. Hideki Katano, founder of Venex Co. recovery-ware, explain how to lead a healthy lifestyle through me-byo.

The Daniel Bennett Group has been featured in the Washington Post, Boston Globe, NPR, Indianapolis Public Radio, San Francisco Examiner, St. Louis Public Radio and the Village Voice. Time Out New York describes the music as, “hypnotic.” In addition to leading his own band, Daniel Bennett performs in Broadway and Off-Broadway theater productions in New York City. The best guitar player Ive heard in maybe my entire life is floating around now, Pasquale Grasso, – Pat Metheny Vintage Guitar MagazineBorn in Italy and now based in New York City, the 30-year- old guitarist has developed an astounding technique and concept informed not by jazz guitarists so much as by bebop pioneers like Powell, Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie and the classical-guitar tradition. His new digital-only EP series, available beginning in June from Sony Masterworks, showcases Grasso in the solo-guitar format, where his intensive studies of both mid-century jazz and classical meld into a signature mastery that is, remarkably, at once unprecedented and evocative.

In 1987, she signed a contract with (now) Universal, retaining ownership of both masters and publishing. In 2002, she launched her Mighty Sound label. A 2003 bootleg of a live gospel set was sanctioned for release in 2007 as “ToHeavenURide,”, followed by a studio release in 2009, “Soul of My Soul.” In 2013, Shocked conceived “Truth Vs Reality,” a performance art exploit, and her 2019 Cuban rumba-inspired studio effort, Musical Chairs: A Comparsa for Artist Rights awaits release. Mike Casey Trio – City Vineyard
January 31, 2020 – New York
New York based Mike Casey is a melody poet. The story-telling songwriter, producer, and sonic alchemist is a multi-talented force whose soul stirring saxophone sound and inventive use of phrasing reaches out with love and embraces your musical desires, one note at a time.Bringing the joy of jazz across genre lines to a diverse young audience around the world, Mikes music passed 4 million streams in the first two years of his recording career (against all odds, without a record label or a team – an anomaly in the genre). On a mission to be a passionate vessel for jazz in the 21st century, his searing sound, always aiming to connect emotionally and tell a story, demands the attention of the listener. This is not your parents elevator music.Im not interested in sizzle over substance, he says. Improvising, or as like to think of it, spontaneous composing, is not about displaying skill for ego’s sake. I aim to deliver each musical statement with power, honesty, and passion to connect with audiences.

February 01, 2020 – New York
New York-based bassist/composer Leo Sherman impregnates his debut album, Tonewheel, with diverse, rewarding content that includes catchy themes, stimulating improvised moments, and energy-filled vamps. The album, conceived as a musical self-portrait, reflects his existence from an early childhood until the present day, and describes sensitive phases such as when he and his family had to run away from Leningrad in 1987, his difficult upbringing in Baltimore, as well as his maturation as a musician in New York.
