Monday is the last day to purchase $20, early-bird tickets for the first 2020 installment of Saturday Night Live in El Dorado, which will feature blues and southern soul star T.K. Soul.
Presented by Mr. Mike’s Productions, the show is set for Feb. 29 in the El Dorado Municipal Auditorium, 100 W. Eighth. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m.
Other headliners are Rhomey, West Dawn and Fat Daddy. Superstar Mark Jones and DJ Big Daddy in Da Mixx will host the show.
A veteran in the music business and a flagship name in contemporary blues and southern soul, T.K. Soul has built a loyal following on the blues/southern soul circuit, including in El Dorado where he has performed multiple times over the years.
Michael Jackson, of Mr. Mike’s Productions, said T.K. Soul’s name has been a proven draw for blues and southern soul fans, who flock to other shows presented by Mr. Mike’s, including Soul Fest and the Southern Soul Showdown, both of which are held annually at the Union County Fairgrounds.
For years, T.K. Soul was the reigning champion of the Southern Soul Showdown, which pits the headliners against each other in a friendly competition.
The Winnfield, Louisiana, native mixes traditional R&B, funk and hip-hop with gritty blues melodies and lyrics that speak to love and romantic relationships.
Over the years, the musician-singer-songwriter has come to be known as The Bad Boy of Southern Soul and has generated buzz for his showmanship, including taking the stage in a boxing robe and gloves.
Jackson previously said he has tried to book T.K. Soul for a show at least once a year.
One of T.K. Soul’s last appearances in El Dorado was in 2017 as one of the headliners of the Southern Soul Showdown.
Tickets for Saturday Night Live are on sale now for $20. After Monday, advance ticket prices will go up to $25 and then $30. Tickets will be $35 at the door. Seats in the VIP section start at $50.
