A new bar dedicated to Motown, soul, disco and funk has opened in Preston city centre.
New venue Detroit, which is located above Ballers Sports Bar at 158 Friargate, had its launch party on Friday 28 February.
Co-owner Haydn Price said: “Detroit is inspired by the giant icons of the Motown and soul era and dedicated to the music where dancing came first.
“The bar is aimed at anyone who loves the music. There’s a dance floor, a stage and bookable booths available nightly. It will be perfect for people who want to have a quiet drink during the week, and a chance to listen to live entertainment and have a dance at the weekend.
“There is nowhere in Preston that caters exclusively for this type of music and while still enjoying good quality drinks. We fancied doing something different and I thought this place would be the right size.
“We have some excellent live entertainment and DJs lined up plus a resident percussionist to entertain the people of Preston.”
