Jackson Price has followed his dream and is releasing a new album I Used To Have Fun.
Price, who had a solid career as an actor in his LA days, devotes himself to the music and for anyone who’s a fan of the blues, this collection of originals takes a page from the greats.
Over the years it has become evident that Price is enjoying center stage starring in his own music show, playing his original tunes. With I Used To Have Fun, Price hits all the high notes by taking the classic blues sound and adding the big-band flavor he has come to love.
Price had learned blues guitar when he was young and went on to start writing his own music as a way to keep from going off the deep end while dealing with the ups and downs of his LA acting career.
And he was so good, Price was selected as lead guitarist for the LA soul and blues band The Mighty Mojo Prophets. His time in the band was an inspiration for Price to do his own thing, and he beat a path for Taos, New Mexico, where he started a band called Big Swing Theory.
Price continues to have fun with that band, but he created a second band that plays original blues and that’s how Jackson Price and The Blues Rockets came about. Jackson Price and the Blues Rockets is comprised of Price on lead guitar, slide guitar, and vocals, David Chmil on rhythm and lead guitar, Colin Jenkinson on bass and Max Moulton on drums.
The band recently released the debut album I Used To Have Fun, which features all original compositions by Price.
