AARP is searching for the next American singing sensation, but there’s a catch: you have to be over the age of 50.

“Do you have music in your soul? Or soul in your music?” the non-profit organization is asking seniors as it solicits entries to the AARP Superstar 2020 Contest.

“AARP is searching for the next American singing sensation — whether your jam is soul, rock, hip-hop, country, pop, opera, or whatever gets your groove on,” according to the AARP website. “And this one’s for grownups.”

AARP is looking to crown an “AARP Superstar” who will win a grand prize of $5,000 while asking people over 50 years old to join the celebration of “the power of music.”

All you need to do is follow three easy steps:

  1. Submit a video of yourself singing a song you enjoy, a capella.
  2. Share your Superstar entry with friends via email, Facebook or Twitter.
  3. Stand a chance to win the grand prize.

Entries are being accepted now through Aug. 2. Submissions will be voted on for fan favorite videos.

Some great entries have already been shared on AARP’s Twitter feed and through its website here.

To learn more about this contest or to submit your video, visit the AARP website.

Do you or someone you know over the age of 50 have a great voice to share with the world? It’s never too late to chase those dreams.
