Learn more about The Ones You Forgot in the following All Access interview:

Thanks for your time! Given everything that is going on in the world today, how are you staying sane and continuing on with your music?

Thanks for having us! We have been trying to find some balance in the middle of all of this. Trying to work out to stay healthy, playing some video games for fun, writing and creating to keep the music ideas flowing! It hasn’t been perfect but we want to make the best of it!

How has this pandemic changed your day to day life? Is your city starting to open up more now? Have you been able to get out and work on your music much?

We are from New Jersey, so lockdown was pretty intense for our area. Our lives changed tremendously, but the good news is we are safe and healthy! We have been writing new material and preparing for the future as a band since the live setting is obviously on pause right now.

Do you feel like social media has become even more important these days? How are you trying to stay connected to your fans?

It’s incredibly important to utilize social media as a band! We recently have taken up live streaming on Twitch – it’s been a great way to connect with our fans and have some fun.

How did you come up with your band name? Was it hard to find something that you could all agree on?

It was super simple. Jenna made a list of random phrases and words that she liked. The Ones You Forgot was the one we settled on! It just stuck out to all of us, so we committed to it!

Let’s talk about your latest single “Something For Me” that was just released. What was the inspiration for this song? How does it compare to anything else this group has worked on?

“Something For Me” was inspired by self love. It’s a song that is all about realizing the respect you deserve from someone, and how it’s not fair for you to wait forever for it. We feel like it resembles us well because of the high energy.

Do you have plans to release more new music soon and a full collection of new songs? How will “Something For Me” compare to your forthcoming music?

We have a few songs that are almost ready for your ears! “Something For Me” will be a great transition for them.

How would you say that this band has grown and developed since you first formed back in 2014? What has remained the same? How have the band dynamics changed?

We were teenagers when we started this band, so we can safely say we have grown up A LOT. The dynamics changed mainly because we became a larger act and needed to become more organized, professional and active. Our friendship has remained the same and we think it always will!

Since we are all desperately missing live music, what has been a favorite show of yours from the past and a favorite show that you attended? What about some of your favorite venues from around the world?

Playing Warped Tour in Atlantic City, NJ will always be the one we talk about! An amazing weekend both for playing and attending!

How have you been affected by this incredibly necessary and overdue Black Lives Matter movement? How do you think it will affect future music?

It’s so great to see activism coming back to the music scene. We think it’s going to help cultivate safer spaces for everyone and continue the much needed action and conversation for BLM as well as other causes!

If you could get into the studio with absolutely any artist today, who would it be and why them? What artists have continued to inspire you and the kind of music that you make?

It’s hard to pick one for all of us, but if you look at a classic warped tour lineup from the early 2010’s, a whole handful of those bands would be a dream to spend studio time with, especially since a lot of them inspired us from day one.

Is there anything else that you would like to share with our readers about yourself or your music?
