Taylor Swift returns to ACM Awards after 7 years for first live ‘Folklore’ performance – USA TODAY

Taylor Swift is returning to her county roots, performing at the Academy of Country Music Awards for the first time in seven years in what will be her first live performance since the surprise release of her album “Folklore” earlier this summer.

The singer, 30, shared a promo for the ACM Awards (CBS, Wednesday, 8 p.m. EDT), announcing that she’ll return to the ACM stage for the first time since 2013 when she sang the title song from “Red,” the last album she marketed in the country genre before moving into pop.

It will be the world premiere of Swift performing the song “Betty” from “Folklore” and the first time she’ll sing any song from the album live.

“Bout to show up at your party,” Swift tweeted Sunday, referencing a line from “Betty.”

The 55th annual ACM Awards were postponed from Las Vegas last April to this fall at three Nashville, Tennessee, venues – the Bluebird, Ryman and Grand Ole Opry House – amid ongoing COVID-19 health concerns.

Miranda Lambert, Tim McGraw, Luke Combs and Jimmie Allen will play at the Bluebird Cafe, the Academy of Country Music said last month in a news release. Maren Morris, Kelsea Ballerini, Gabby Barrett, Old Dominion and Thomas Rhett with Jon Pardi will perform from the Ryman Auditorium.

Other announced ACM performers include Carrie Underwood, Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton, Dan + Shay, Kane Brown, Trisha Yearwood and Luke Bryan. Keith Urban will host.
