Curated by Performances à la Carte, Jazz ‘n Paz returns with its’ seasonal intimate jazz series of three concerts showcasing some of Los Angeles’ finest jazz musicians. Taking place on early Sunday evenings, the Fall 2019 season series opens October 6 with GF3 featuring Gary Fukushima; on November 17, with 2 + 1 Plus Latin featuring Louie Cruz Beltran; and on December 22, Carols of the Belles featuring Barbara Morrison. Jazz ‘n Paz takes place at 5:00 p.m. at Neighborhood UU Church in Pasadena. Series subscriptions for all 3 concerts are now on sale, offering a discount from individual concert tickets.

GF3 – October 6, 2019
GF3 features Gary Fukushima on piano and keyboard with Miles Senzaki on drums and JP Maramba on bass.
Gary Fukushima is a keyboardist and composer in Los Angeles. He is on the faculty at CalState University Northridge, Pasadena City College, and at the Pasadena Conservatory of Music. He has performed throughout the US, South America, and Asia with Alphonso Johnson (Weather Report), Blue Note singer/songwriter Priscilla Ahn, actresses and singers Mia Maestro, Marilu Henner and Renee Olstead, and acclaimed ensembles such as Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, the Sabella Consort, and many others. He is the co-founder and co-leader of his own band, GF3, which has just released their first EP, Preludes, Book I.
Gary has also written articles about jazz for publications including DownBeat Magazine, LA Weekly and LA Jazz Scene, and is a cofounder and artistic director of the Los Angeles Jazz Collective, a nonprofit organization that seeks to promote improvised jazz music, and to create a stronger community among Los Angeles jazz musicians.

Featuring Lyman Medeiros on bass, vocals by Jamie Perez, Nick Mancini on vibes, and special featured guest, Internationally renowned Latin bandleader Louie Cruz Beltran on congas and vocals, with Carlos Vivas on piano and Abelardo Quintaro on drums.
Carols of the Belles – December 22, 2019
Celebrate the holidays with Jazz ‘n Paz, featuring the vocals of Barbara Morrison, Jamie Perez, Renee Myara, and Catina DeLuna, along with Michael Ragonese on piano, Andres Salazar on drums, Danny Janklow on sax and flute, and Luca Alemmano on bass.
