MONROE, La (KNOE) The band Copper Chief puts their spin on the Dolly Parton classic Jolene.
The Hub Music Hall in downtown Monroe
This group of Texas tune makers took to the stage at the Hub Music Hall in downtown Monroe.
“ We can’t say enough about these folks. They’ve set up a state of the art classy venue,”
It was only fitting they helped officially open this place because it was on the way home from a gig in Monroe in 2015 that Michael Valliere said hey, you want to be in the band? And Copper Chief was born.
“Some words sound good together like bacon and eggs,” said Rio Tripiano.
This Austin/New Braunfels, TX-based group was recently featured as finalists on USA Network’s “Real Country” with Travis Tritt. And although they headlined the Kickin Kountry Fest at the Hub you really can’t corral them into the strictly country music genre.
“Rock n roll country soul grit quality. It’s good stuff. You’re gonna like it,” said Mike Valliere.
“We grew up listening to old country we found led zeppelin along the way whatever kind of child that makes that’s what we are now,” said John Jammall II.
And what they are now is a high energy, unapologetic rock and roll group with country roots.
The next event at The Hub is September 26, 2019 with Resurrection- a Journey tribute band.
