BTS Bring The Soul: Docu-Series episode 5, “Cordiality” follows the members on their first tour through Europe and how they help each other through injuries.
Bring The Soul: Docu-Series episode 5, “Cordiality” might be one of the hardest to watch. During the European leg of the tour Jungkook is left injured after an accident.
The members of BTS have to figure out how to adjust their set, help get Jungkook back to health, and try not to over work themselves in the process.
Meanwhile, the members try to enjoy their time in Europe and reflect on their goals for the future.
“Worried? I worry a lot. When I’m in my room, I get all kinds of thoughts. ‘Why do people like us?’ Probably because we work hard, but who doesn’t work hard? Others make good music and do their best too. So why us? In our interviews we always talk about how close we are, how we try to communicated a lot with our fans, but that’s not just us, everyone else does that.” – Park Jimin
“I don’t think it’s easy believing in someone and cheering them on. That’s why we have to do well. That’s why we have to do even better.” – Park Jimin
“‘Let’s see how far we can go’ that was sort of our mindset. Especially for this U.S. tour. I’d turn on the news before we leave for the show and it’s nothing but news about us. No matter where we went. That just defies belief. Being on the morning news. People living in the U.S. and Canada were saying that they’re grateful there are Asian artists out there that they can be proud of. It’s a strange feeling.” – Min Yoongi
“It’s a good feeling, changing someone’s perception. That’s not an easy thing to do.” – Kim Seokjin
“Someday I want to hold a small exhibition. Maybe when I’m in my 40s? in the far future. I think if I do, I think it’ll be a very touching moment.” – Kim Taehyung
“It’s only natural that we’re sincere with our message, that we create and present a great performance, but again honestly that’s only natural. Fundamentally, we are singers. It also occurs to me that this is a great time to be doing this. We release an album and within seconds it spreads across the world, and the news spreads and the lyrics are translated right away. The higher we go, our fans might start to feel distant. What’s lucky, though, is that there are so many different ways to connect. So many people say they are comforted. Some say, ‘Things were so, so hard but I picked myself back up,’ they tell us.” – Jeon Jeongguk
“So for me, in a way my knowledge in music is shallow compared to RM or Suga. I started music after joining the team so my spectrum isn’t that broad. To start from that and now being able to provide comfort and healing through music to many people. Become another lifestyle to some people. I still find all of this incredible and amazing. And now, it’s still amazing but there’s also a sense of responsibility. There’s a great sense of responsibility because we give hope and healing to a great many people. And that’s why I don’t take music lightly anymore. Not when it comes to music.” – Jung Hoseok
“I wish no one gets hurt. Finishing a concert without anyone getting hurt is always optimal for us. He was warming up for a better performance, and it’s a real pity he was injured. He has so much passion for the stage so I knew he was going to be very upset.” – Kim Taehyung
“It’s the same with every situation. You get hurt or sick because you’re unlucky. It’s not like I jumped off the second floor because I wanted to get hurt. There’s always the possibility of an injury. You just hope you’ll heal quickly.” – Min Yoongi
“I’m sure it’s super hard for Jungkook right now. I actually think it’s incredible that he’s smiling right now. I can’t even imagine how much he’s beating himself up over this. I went through this myself once too.” – Park Jimin
“Getting hurt like this, I got really mad. It was bewildering. I blamed myself a lot. If it happened last year, I might have fallen into a slump. But if I do that, it doesn’t help anything. Id’ make everyone else uncomfortable. I don’t think that’s helpful at all.” – Jeon Jeongguk
“When a member is missing, that spot seems very empty so we try harder and dance more powerfully, hoping it won’t seem so vacant.” – Kim Taehyung
“Not only me but other members too, it seemed like they were putting in not just 100% but more than 100% of their effort into this performance. And that’s why I think the performance looked even bigger, with just the six of us.” – Kim Seokjin
“I saw somewhere someone said, ‘Seeing BTS was like seeing a unicorn.’ When you think about that no matter what’s happening behind the stage, yes, maybe the performance is not as good as the last one, but 70% and 0% is totally different. Just showing our faces to some people is a spectacular and singular experience. Thankfully, we’ve become capable of giving something so we have to be here. We have to go up on that stage.” – Kim Namjoon
“Right now, I’m truly…I’m really grateful for my life right now. To be able to do what I can and being loved for it, that’s not something that comes easily.” – Jung Hoseok
“I want to live happily for a long, long time with our BTS members. Frankly, we could’ve gone higher, we had the chances, but instead of dreaming again for something bigger, I want to laugh and be happy. Even if it’s a little lower, a little slower. I want to make music with our BTS for a long, long time.” – Kim Taehyung
“To be honest, there’s a lot. If we’re just talking about setting records. I want to perform at the Grammy’s. Do a world tour in those places without roofs. There’s no limit to human desire. But if I think rationally, just as it is now, this moment, where we’re all happy working together. That’s our one goal. It’s not easy though. We all have our battles. There are things we want to do on our own. How can seven guys with own thoughts become one?” – Jung Hoseok
“It’s all different but understanding the differences and being considerate. Through them, my self-esteem is boosted too.” – Kim Taehyung
“We understand one another very well and know the importance of our team, which allows us to be happy on stage. If we can be happy and still set records that would be the best of both worlds.” – Jung Hoseok
“I let my guard down. My muscles are cramped again. I ended up not being able to go on air.” – Park Jimin
“I felt so bad. Because I know Jimin. I’m sure he was extremely stressed. When it comes to his body, he does overstrain himself. But when you do, it does look nice. I can totally relate to what Jimin is feeling. I can understand.” – Jeon Jeongguk
“We can show our 100% when all seven of us are on stage. It’s unfortunate that we can’t, but I wouldn’t go so far to say that the quality of our performance has dropped. It’s unfortunate, but I think we should be grateful that we can be on stage at all.” – Min Yoongi
“There were a few days when I had a sore throat. When we’re on a tour, we’re sick with the cold about half the time. Such that there will be 4 or 5 critical moments during a show.” – Kim Seokjin
“We only had Jungkook and Jimin come down with injuries, but everyone has their aches and pains. So everyone’s trying to figure out how we can stay on top of that.” – Min Yoongi
“What I realized during this tour is the most important thing is the health and physical state of our body. It’s very important not to get hurt.” – Kim Seokjin
“I think many people do know. I think people like us not because we are perfect but because we are not. We have a lot of shortcomings. I think that’s why. But honestly, I personally don’t want to be just an ordinary Park Jimin. I’m not saying I want to be unapproachable or something. I want to be a celebrity for them.” – Park Jimin
“I want them to be happy. I want them to be happy seeing us, listening to our songs, watching us dance. That’s enough for me. They are the driving force, helping us to strive forward, so I hope that our fans are as happy as we are or better yet, happier than us. I think I’m performing with that thought in my mind. Everyone here, at this moment, I wish for all of them to be happy. That’s all I think about right now.” – Park Jimin
“My favorite quote these days is, done is better than perfect. I think it means that doing something is better than trying just to be perfect. That’s how I see it. I liked it. ‘Done is better than perfect.’ Nothing is really ever perfect. So these days, I’ve taken that quote to heart. I think too much.” – Kim Namjoon
“I’ll say, a place where you can feel the love? I know when I’m on stage, ‘This is how much I’m being loved.’ And that’s also the reason I must try hard.” – Kim Seokjin
“This is not just an ordinary place. It’s a place where I feel everything should be perfect, but we are so very ordinary. I think we’re just a group of people trying very hard for perfection. To look perfect.” – Jung Hoseok
“Each member is different, but our sincerity for the stage is identical. It’s very simple but we are performers.” – Kim Taehyung
