The Gulf Jazz Society hosted the 19th Annual Jazz by the Bay Festival on Friday and Saturday at Oaks by the Bay Park in St. Andrews.

Jazz artists from all over came to play at the festival. It was free to the public, all you had to do was bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on.

Larry Fletcher, Executive Director of the Gulf Jazz Society, said, “We love jazz and it’s something I wish everybody could be exposed to it. Even people who say ‘I don’t like jazz,’ well come listen to it. It’s an American art form, like county and western, same thing, and it’s worthwhile taking a look at it. and if you’re not paying, why not bring a chair out here, sit down, and listen.”

Money is raised throughout the year to put the festival on.
