The Sleepy Hollow Performing Arts Boosters will bring the 7th Annual Winter Blues benefit concert back to the Tarrytown Music Hall on Saturday, January 11 from 7 p.m. until midnight. This year’s musical line-up showcases local favorites including The Incumbents, Juke Joint and the Tarrytown Horns, Losing Our Faculties (the Sleepy Hollow High School teachers’ band), Moxie, Funk and Disorderly, and other special guests. The evening will begin with the high school’s Vanguard Jazz Combo, along with performers from both the high school and middle school musicals.
Originally the brainchild of Mary Kohrherr and Jan Atkinson as a way to combat the winter blues, the event has become the Sleepy Hollow Performing Arts Boosters’ biggest fundraiser of the year. All proceeds will go directly to the Boosters to further enrich the arts – and support the Sleepy Hollow High School and Middle School’s band, orchestra, and chorus, as well as their drama and musical productions.
“This event continues to grow every year with more parents of younger students and alumni getting involved and attending,” said Kohrherr. “Winter Blues highlights local musicians who generously donate their talents.”
Lively, fun, and entertaining, the beloved Winter Blues concert party, like the Boosters themselves, brings the community together and enhances a key component of education that always needs support: the performing arts.
The event welcomes dancing in the aisles and features silent auction bids, an open bar, and delectable snacks from Made By RK in addition to continuous live music.
