Shakespeare in Shorts: 7:30 p.m. Aug. 9 and 10. Pensacola Opera Center, 75 S. Tarragona St. Condense Romeo and Juliet down to five scenes, set those scenes to music, and what do you have? Shakespeare’s most famous romantic tragedy performed in less than 20 minutes through rock opera parody and stage combat. Every word is sung, including the play’s most famous lines. First City Shakespeare and the Southeastern Teen Shakespeare Company present three shorts: Romeo and Juliet, The Merry Wives of Windsor, and Pyramus and Thisby. Capstone’s 12th annual Wine a little, Dine a lot!: 5:30 p.m. Aug. 10. Skopelos at New World, 600 S. Palafox St. Eat, sip, and enjoy a delectable four-course dinner prepared by community favorite, Chef Gus Silivos, with wine pairings provided by Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits.
