Get ready, ARMY! BTS has officially announced that their new album is coming out a lot sooner than you’d think and it has fans freaking out over the surprise announcement.
BTS revealed that their new album, Map of the Soul: 7, will be released on February 21. Pre-orders will start on January 9.
While the hit-making boyband did not release an official track list, the title confirms that the album will be a continuation of their last EP, , which was released back in April 2019.
“Anticipation remains high as BTS continues the MAP OF THE SOUL series. Global fans are eager to discover how the story will continue on from the previous installment, which explored the message of finding joy in love and reaching out to the world,” BigHit Entertainment announced in a statement.
BTS confirmed on their Weverse page that more details will be announced soon on their profile and their Fan Cafe.
Fans on Twitter were quick to confirm the meaning behind the number seven and the band. Along with the announcement on January 7, BTS has seven members and have been together for 7 years.
Another fan pointed out that the band recently hinted at the album’s name during the 2019 MAMA Awards in December. A BTS fan page posted a quote from the “Present meets Future” part of their performance that said, “the 7 years we have been together, always exists in 7 members of BTS.”
With BTS revealing that more details will be released soon, it looks like the BTS ARMY has a lot more to look forward to in the next few weeks!
