The group recently released its third album, ‘Thoughts on Letting Go’
Harbourfacebook.com/harbourthebandThis Friday, Cincinnati AltPop/Rock band Harbour celebrates the release of its just-released new album, Thoughts on Letting Go. It’s the third full-length from the group, which formed in Lebanon, Ohio in 2014 and has since built a fervent local/regional fanbase with its hyper-catchy sound (think Vampire Weekend meets Walk the Moon meets Bad Suns).
Thoughts on Letting Go is Harbour’s first release since drummer Harrison Miller amicably parted ways with the group last year and newest member Ryan Sulken took over the throne.
In late July, Harbour released “Radiate,” the first single from Thoughts on Letting Go. Buoyed by trickling-waterfall guitar riffs, the track surfs on a warm, beachy funk before bursting into its ebullient chorus, with singer Ryan Green’s soaring, elastic pipes guiding the way.
Harbour’s release party for Thoughts on Letting Go is set for Friday at The Woodward Theater (1404 Main St., Over-the-Rhine, woodwardtheater.com). Tickets to the 8 p.m. show are $12 in advance (available at cincyticket.com/harbourrelease) or $14 at the door.
Harbour will be joined by a pair of like-minded fellow Cincinnati acts for Friday’s show — Coastal Club and Sylmar, which recently teamed up with area label Soul Step Records for a 12-inch vinyl issue of their great recent five-track EP, Telford. Soul Step previously released the vinyl for Sylmar’s first single, as well as the band’s self-titled debut album from last year. Telford’s limited-edition run of 100 white-vinyl platters was made available at soulsteprecords.com on Sept. 2.
Columbus, Ohio-based rockers Spirit of the Bear are also in the lineup for Friday’s show.
