Divas of soul music, Lira, Syleena Johnson and Berita are to dazzle audiences – Germiston City News

Three renowned soul sensations, Lira, Syleena Johnson and Berita, promise to bring some soul sizzle to audiences, for one night only, at the The Divas of Soul Concert, on August 23, at Carnival City’s Big Top Arena.

South Africa’s very own diva Lira has wowed audiences both locally and internationally with her voice and artistry.

This 11-time South African Music Award-winning Afro-soul vocalist has six multi-platinum studio albums, her most recent being Born Free.

Lira, who refers to her music as ‘a fusion of soul, funk, and elements of jazz and African’, continues to be her fans number one choice.

She is also a coach and mentor on the South African version of the American-hit reality TV show, The Voice.

Grammy-nominated Chicago-born diva Syleena Johnson is an R&B and soul singer-songwriter, actress and talk show host.

While she is well known for her chart-topping hit All Falls Down featuring Kanye West, her music career boasts eight studio albums and multiple nominations and awards.

Her confessional songs and soulful rasp are described as reminiscent of old-school R&B singers.

Syleena’s new hit single, Woman, is guaranteed to set the stage alight.

She will visit South Africa for a three-event tour, in which she will present her motivational workshop Girls Talk with Syleena Johnson with girls from Ekurhuleni.

The third voice to dazzle audiences is that of multi-award-winning singer-songwriter, guitarist and music producer Berita .

She was introduced to South Africa with a stunning debut single Thandolwethu, now revered as a classic South African ballad.

Berita has released three studio albums to critical and commercial acclaim, earning platinum sales and multiple awards.

Her most recent project is the chart-topping single Ndicel’ikiss released in January this year and currently sitting on the top 40 most played songs on South African radio.

The evening will be hosted by radio and TV presenter Dineo Ranaka.

The concert is a creation of Fuse Africa Group and 2nd G Productions, who are not only proud to bring Gauteng’s soul and R&B lovers a night to remember, but also provide a platform to create awareness around issues faced by women in this country.

Doors open at 6pm with the show starting at 7pm.
