Multi-genre singer/songwriter, FITUMI, is excited to announce the pre-save for his upcoming Alt-Rock single “The Storm, ” which is the third single from his upcoming debut EP, Know Who I Am. It is currently available for pre-save HERE and will be released worldwide to digital retailers and streaming services on Jan. 24th by Symphonic Distribution. “The Storm,” is an aggressive up-tempo alternative rock track intended to inspire listeners to face their adversities and to fight back against doubt in overcoming obstacles. FITUMI commented, “This song was inspired by a quote I read, ‘Fate whispered to the warrior, ‘You can not withstand the storm.’ The warrior shouted back, ‘I am the storm.’ At that period in my life, the quote really resonated with me. I had recently left the Army after a deployment, my father had recently passed away the day before my birthday and on the day we were moving into a new home, and a couple of months after that my son was born. It felt like a lot of heavy life events were being thrown at me all at once. It was an emotional rollercoaster. I was doubting myself but trying my best. I wanted to retreat into my vices, but I somehow managed to stay calm and weather every storm that came my way; eventually overcoming the doubt and adversities.” The song, co-written with Lauren Light and Wes Lauterbach was also produced by Lauterbach & Zane Frye.

The EP, Know Who I Am, will be revealed in a series of official single releases through the first quarter of 2020, in a waterfall release strategy. As a labor of love from FITUMI, Know Who I Am, tackles themes of love, loss, addiction and overcoming, as viewed through his experiences as a soldier, a caretaker, a husband, and a father. FITUMI states, “I wanted to make relatable music; music that would connect with people around the globe at any point in their life. I wanted to offer motivation to the kid struggling under the weight of societal peer pressure, the new parent trying to keep their head above water, the couple fighting to keep the spark alive, the college student facing decisions that will shape the rest of their life and to all those daring to be different and fighting for a better tomorrow. I also wanted to offer support and encouragement for those out here taking big risks and making big moves; not afraid to fail and dusting themselves off and getting back up when they do. This music and project is for everyday people fighting everyday battles.” Know Who I Am will feature the singles, “Fight For Love,” “Lightning,” “The Storm,” and “Wolves,” in addition to the bonus track “Iris.” All songs are written by FITUMI, except for “Iris,” a re-imagined version of the Goo Goo Dolls classic, and will mark the first time he has released his own original music.
