Looking for live music? Here are some of my best bets for touring bands, original tunes, big acts and otherwise cool shows this November in Southwest Florida. I’ll add more as venues announce new shows.

This list focuses mostly on original music and interesting concerts. Check individual venues for cover bands and other shows.

ACMA

Nov. 2: Patchouli, ACMA founding members Bruce Hecksel and Julie Patchouli return to play a show as award-winning nuevo-flamenco duo Patchouli. Andy Getch opens. 7 p.m. $10-$15.

Nov. 9: Bill Mize, Grammy Award-winning guitarist who won the National Fingerstyle Guitar Competition at The Walnut Valley Festival in Kansas. 7 p.m. $10-$15.

Nov. 23: Aaron Burdett, critically acclaimed North Carolina singer-songwriter whose music blends Americana, country, blues, bluegrass and folk-rock. Thomas Earl opens. 7 p.m. $15.

ALLIANCE FOR THE ARTS

Nov. 2: Bluegrass in the Theater, join fellow acoustic-music lovers in the Foulds Theatre for three hours of live music by bands from Southwest Florida and beyond. The November lineup features Andy Wahlberg, Justin Mason Band and Keith Bass. Presented in partnership with the Acoustic Music Society of Southwest Florida. 2-5 p.m. $15.

Nov. 3: Sanibel Blues and Jazz Fest, influential British blues guitarist Matt Schofield headlines the fourth annual music festival, which also includes Johnny Jensen, the Marty Stokes Band and Sean Chambers. Plus there will be a closing band jam. The fest is a fundraiser for the Sanibel-Captiva Optimists Club and its college scholarships and other charitable endeavors. Noon to 7 p.m. $20 ($100 for VIP).

Nov. 3: Alice Cooper: The shock-rock/theatrical-rock innovator brings his new “Ol’ Black Eyes Is Back” tour to Fort Myers. 8 p.m. $42-$95.

Nov. 15: Straight No Chaser, the vocal group got its start in 1996 at Indiana University. They’re probably best known for their funny, 1998 rendition of “The 12 Days of Christmas,” which racked up more than 20 million views on YouTube. Since then, they’ve sold more than 1.6 million albums in the United States. 8 p.m. $40-$60.

Nov. 24: The Fab Four, the Emmy Award-winning tribute act recreates Beatles hits, note for note, with three costume changes representing the rock legends’ different eras. 8 p.m. $35-$75.

Nov. 30: Tony Bennett, the legendary, smooth-voiced singer returns for another Mann Hall show. 8 p.m. $96-$134.

Every Sunday: Don Mopsick and Roy Gerson, the jazz bassist and pianist perform for The Barrel Room’s Jazz Brunch. 10 a.m. Free.

Every Thursday: The Dan Miller & Lew Del Gatto Quartet, featuring trumpeter Miller (who has toured and recorded with Harry Connick Jr., Wynton Marsalis and more) and saxman Del Gatto (formerly of the Saturday Night Live band) playing jazz every week in this local quartet. 7-10 p.m. Free.

Nov. 2: Shaw Davis & The Black Ties, energetic blues and roots-rock band from Pompano Beach. 9 p.m. $7.

Nov. 15: Paul Nelson Band, Grammy Award-winning guitarist, songwriter and producer best known for his work with blues legend Johnny Winter. 9 p.m. $10.

Nov. 16: The Ghost Town Blues Band, modern blues band that was a runner-up for the 2014 International Blues Challenge in Memphis. They recently released a new album. 9 p.m. $10.

Nov. 22: Joey Gilmore, Fort Lauderdale blues and R&B singer/guitarist. 9 p.m. $5.

Nov. 29: JP Soars and the Red Hots, popular Boca Raton bluesman and his band, whose influences include blues greats Muddy Waters and T-Bone Walker, but also Slayer, Black Sabbath, Hank Williams and Tito Puente. Soars won the 2009 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, where he also won the Albert King Award for best guitarist. 9 p.m. $10.

Nov. 1: Selwyn Birchwood, Tampa bluesman known for fiery guitar playing and soulful singing. He won the world-renowned International Blues Challenge in 2013. 8-11 p.m. $15

Nov. 9: Amanda Fish, roots rock, soul and blues singer known for her gritty lyrics and what her website calls “from-the-gut vocals.” Her 2018 album “Free” debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard blues charts. 8-11 p.m. $12.

Nov. 2: The Smiths/Morrissey tribute, Miami’s Ordinary Boys got their name from a song on Morrissey’s solo album “Viva Hate.” The tribute band’s shows are packed with Morrissey and The Smiths tunes such as “Ask,” “There is a Light That Never Goes Out,” “Bigmouth Strikes Again,” “Irish Blood, English Heart” and “Suedehead.” 10-11:30 p.m. Free.

Nov. 30: The Freecoasters, Fort Myers band that plays a catchy, danceable mix of reggae, soul, pop and ska, including covers and originals. 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Free.

Nov. 16: Mindi Abair’s Punta Gorda Wine + Music Festival: Annual blues-rock fest featuring St. Petersburg’s Mindi Abair and The Boneshakers, Larkin Poe and the Shawn Brown Band. Nov. 7: Stardust and Strings Fundraiser, electric violinist Doug Cameron and his violin-playing sons perform jazz, Celtic, Latin, show tunes and more at this fundraiser for the Southwest Florida Symphony. The event also includes dinner, an auction and dancers from the North Fort Myers Academy for the Arts performing costumed Spanish and Irish dances.   5-9 p.m. $65 includes dinner and show.

Nov. 23: The Collective, Cape Coral band that plays what it calls “acoustic-driven, red-dirt alternative rock (with) life experiences poured into every verse and chorus.” Expect raw emotion and a diverse mix of musical styles. Polar Summer opens. 9:30 p.m. to midnight. Free.

Nov. 17: Songwriter Sunday Brunch series, local nonprofit arts group Love Your Rebellion kicks off a new concert series with singer-songwriters playing their original music and telling the stories behind the songs. This show features musicians from local reggae-rock band The Heart Attack Guns and St. Petersburg alt-folk solo act Mountain Holler. Brunch will be sold by Buddha Blends vegan food truck. Proceeds benefit Love Your Rebellion’s arts programming. Concerts will be held every two months. Noon to 2 p.m. Free.

Nov. 7-10: Coconut Festival, Cape Coral’s annual four-day festival returns with live bands, fireworks (Friday and Saturday only), carnival rides, food, a craft beer garden, dancers, stilt walkers and more. Country acts Cassadee Pope, Runaway June and David Lee Murphy perform Friday for Coco Country Night. Then things get rocking Saturday for Coco Rock Night with Stevie Nicks tribute Nightbird, Eagles tribute On the Border, and former Boston singer Fran Cosmo. 5-10 p.m. Thursday, 5 p.m. to midnight Friday, noon to midnight Saturday, noon to 8 p.m. Sunday.
