The Holmes County High School Drama Department will be presenting ROCK OF AGES (High School Edition) on THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 24, MONDAY SEPTEMBER 28, TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 29, THURSDAY OCTOBER 1, & FRIDAY OCTOBER 2 beginning at 7:00pm at the HCHS Auditorium.
It’s the tail end of the big, bad 1980s in Hollywood, and the party has been raging hard. Aqua Net, Big Hair, the Walkman, and Rock music flow freely at one of the Sunset Strips last legendary venues, a place where legendary rocker Stacee Jaxx takes the stage and groupies line up for their chance at an autograph. Amidst the madness, aspiring rock star (and resident toilet cleaner) Drew longs to take the stage as the next big thing (and longs for small-town girl Sherri, fresh off the bus from Kansas with stars in her eyes to be an actress). But the rock and roll fairy tale is about to end when German developers sweep into town with plans to turn the fabled Strip into just another capitalist strip mall. Can Drew, Sherri, and the gang save the strip – and themselves – before it’s too late? Only the music of hit bands Styx, Steve Perry, REO Speedwagon, Whitesnake, Night Ranger, and more hold the answer.
Rock of Ages: High School Edition takes you back to the times of big bands with big egos playing big guitar solos and sporting even bigger hair! This Tony Award -nominated Broadway musical features many 80’s hits including Sister Christian, I Can’t Fight This Feeling, Hit Me With Your Best Shot, The Final Countdown, High Enough, Here I Go Again, Oh Sherry, We Built This City, More Than Words, Every Rose Has Its Thorn, and many more.
Tickets are on sale now at Holmes County High School. Due to the social distancing guidelines that we must follow, the auditorium will be at approximately 40% capacity. Because of this and to be able to get that 40% number in the auditorium, only a small amount of single tickets will be available for each show. Tickets will mainly be available in groups of 2 and 4. We know that this could be an inconvenience and for this we apologize. This is the only way that the 40% capacity number will fit in the auditorium. There will be ushers that will show everyone to their seats. It is encouraged for patrons to wear a mask but not required. Masks will be available upon request. There will be an entrance for advance tickets and for door tickets. Both entrances will be clearly marked. The seats will be disinfected after every show.
Tickets are $5 in Advance and $7 At the Door. Advance tickets for each show will be on sale up until 3:00, the day of the performance. Doors will open for each show at 6:00pm.
The cast has been working on this show since January and excited to finally have this opportunity to perform.
