PHOENIX – The Arizona Roots Music & Arts Festival, a two-day reggae-rock celebration, is returning to the Valley in 2020 for a second go-round.

Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley and Rebelution will headline the festivities Feb. 22-23 at the Rawhide Western Town & Event Center in Chandler.

“While Arizona has always been a good market for our scene, we were blown away by the response to the inaugural Arizona Roots,” festival co-producer Dan Sheehan said in a press release.

“We cannot wait to return and show all our fans the amazing surprises we have in store for year two.”

Weekend passes went on sale this month. General admission tickets cost $89 plus fees, and two VIP levels go for $229 or $629 plus fees.

Both VIP packages, Cypress and Willow, come with express entry, premium restrooms, a commemorative lanyard, access to a premium stage viewing area and a VIP-only T-shirt.

The top-tier Willow pass adds on complimentary drinks, catered dinner, a festival swag bag and access to the Willow Deck for an exclusive view of the stage.

Damian Marley, the youngest son of reggae icon Bob Marley, will be the Saturday headliner. Rebelution, who performed at the inaugural Arizona Roots Music & Arts Festival earlier this year, tops the Sunday lineup.

Steel Pulse, Collie Buddz and The Expendables are among the 19 acts set to perform. The lineup also has a local flavor with Tempe’s Clint Stevens and Phoenix’s Fayuca.

The event is presented by the same team that’s been producing the annual California Roots Music & Arts Festival in Monterey for the past decade.
