Turner hopes to make this an annual event. He says he created Jazz on the Hill to promote music education and highlight national and local jazz artists.
Whalum, a Grammy winner who has played with many artists, performs the sax solo on Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You.”
Admission is free. Tickets for the venue’s covered seating will be available at the Miller Outdoor Theatre box office the day of the performance from 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. There is a limit of four per person. If tickets remain after 1 p.m. the box office will reopen one hour before the show to distribute the remaining tickets. The hill is open seating
