Last weekend, Music Academy students presented two rock concerts at the Creative Arts Center. Family and friends were thoroughly entertained by five excellent bands that played everything from classic rock to modern pop. The bands, which are part of the MAGC Ensemble Program, meet each week for a rehearsal with a Music Academy faculty member in preparation for concerts in February and June. Last year, rock bands also performed at a Friday Night Promenade in July as a culmination of summer rock bands camp.
Ensemble Director Benny Reid described the concert as a “great success,” adding, “I am very proud of all the kids and the hard work they have done this semester. They continue to grow as musicians and it is evident in their artistry at these concerts.” The bands have already begun rehearsing for the MAGC June concerts, and are meeting diligently to practice and hone their skills. The Music Academy faculty and staff are extremely proud of all of the performers involved in these successful shows!
