The first names have been revealed for the 2020 edition of the iconic Montreux Jazz Festival, which returns to the shores of Lake Geneva from 3-18 July.
A duo of American popular music giants make up the first announcement, with soul and pop icon Lionel Richie and funk rock veteran Lenny Kravitz set to appear in the festival’s grand Auditorium Stravinski on Wednesday 8 July and Monday 13 July respectively.
Since the first edition way back in 1967, Montreux Jazz Festival has evolved beyond the music genre of its name to welcome international superstars from wide range of styles – and Lionel Richie and Lenny Kravitz add their name to an almost unparalleled list of previous performers which ranges from jazz legends like Miles Davis and Ella Fitzgerald through to rock giants like Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd.
