As part of the Raise the Roof Capital Campaign, a Pearl City Jazz Holiday Concert will be held Saturday at The Spire Theater.
Pearl City Jazz Band, will perform a variety of holiday classics and a selection of jazz favorites. Band members include saxophone players Ralph Rasmussen, Curtis Barnes,, Kenny G. Mark, Bill Tucker, and Kyle Jordan; trumpet players Todd Jacobson, Bob Lewis, Peter Weinreich, and Brandon Caruso; trombone players Paul Near, Todd Mclean, Alex Osborne, Doug Burdick, and John Zawadski. The rhythm section is comprised of pianist Carol Svenson, bassist Spencer Drake, and drummer Craig Ridgway. Vocalists include Tyler Stimson and Victoria McIlvain.
Doors will open at 6 p.m., and the concert will begin at 7 p.m.
The main roof at the Spire is in dire need of replacement. Fundraising efforts began to preserve the historic structure.
So far, the campaign has raised almost $16k through direct community support, which is very encouraging, but efforts to raise the remaining $44k are still underway.
