Lockdown took a toll on the mental health of folk musician Pousali Banerjee. A social person that she is, being locked down in her home wasn’t easy at all. Besides, she doesn’t quite enjoy digital concerts, “I miss the pulse of a live show where my fans scream and sing along with me. I am bored with the social media live events, where I sing in an empty room. There is no cheer and no excitement. I love to dance on the stage as I sing. That went missing in this lockdown,” the singer said. To beat this lockdown blues, Pusali and her friends decided to create new positive songs.
“I wanted positivity in my life. Hence, ever since the unlocking process began, I am stepping out. In fact, my friends and I made a song that talks about positivity. In this lockdown, everything went into a standstill. The entire music fraternity, along with other performing artistes, experienced a heavy financial blow during this period. One day, I realised if I keep on thinking about it, I will go mad. My friends said that this cannot be permanent. Everything will come back to normal one day. Through my new song, we wanted to say cheers to a new beginning. This is a moment when we keep our positivity intact and carry on,” Pousali told us.
The song is written and composed by Sainik Dey. “If there is one thing I am waiting for, it is to get back on stage. I want to sing and dance. Till then, only positive vibes can keep me going,” Pousali signed off.
