The band hosts a release party this weekend in honor of their first full-length, ‘Stargaze Rock ’n’ Roll’
Slow GlowsCincinnati Psych Rock band Slow Glows will celebrate the release of their debut album, Stargaze Rock ’n’ Roll, Saturday, Aug. 24 at MOTR Pub (1345 Main St., Over-the-Rhine, motrpub.com). The free, 9 p.m. event will also feature performances by fellow local Indie Rock trios Pop Empire and Darlene.
Cincinnati has seen a lot of great Shoegaze-inspired bands emerge over the past few years and Slow Glows stands out as one of the best. Debuting just two years ago, besides being a consistent presence on the local club front, the trio has also done some regional/East Coast touring and last year they released a 7-inch vinyl single and their second EP, 79 Moons.
Slow Glows — which features singer/guitarist Kelli Redding, drummer Rachel Thode and bassist Ian Gorby — premiered the music video for the new album’s first single, “Spiderland,” in late July via Left Bank magazine’s website.
Today we’re thrilled to premiere album track “Tangerine,” on which the rolling, mesmeric rhythms and sparkly, angular guitar churn resemble the peak-era sounds of The Cure and intertwine enchantingly with Redding’s ethereal voice.
