SAN ANGELO — The San Angelo 12th Annual Simply Texas Blues Festival has been cancelled due to recent mandates by Gov. Greg Abbott and city officials meant to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
The San Angelo Blues Society announced Saturday, June 27, 2020 that its funds and energy would be better spent on next year’s festival.
“We sincerely appreciate the support we’ve received for this event and its proposed changes,” according to a Facebook post. “To the vendors and the sponsors, we ask you to hang with us.”
The society will be refunding any payments made by vendors and music contestants.
“The safety and well-being of our entire community is very important, and we strive to hold events that are good for our community,” the post stated. “We’re keepin’ the Blues alive!”
Any updates about upcoming events will be post on the society’s Facebook page.
