If the fog doesn’t roll in and the sky stays clear Thursday night, fireworks will crackle and pop over the San Francisco Bay. But that’s just the start to this Fourth of July weekend, which will also feature a double dose of live music and a boba festival.
Here are our top picks for getting out and about over the next few days in San Francisco.
Fourth of July at Fisherman’s Wharf
For the Fourth, Aquatic Park, Pier 39 and Ghirardelli Square will host live music and street performers throughout the day, leading up to the city’s official fireworks finale around 9:30 p.m. The fireworks, which will soar from Aquatic Park and Pier 39, will be visible from all along the waterfront (weather permitting). Some boat tour companies are also offering special fireworks cruises.
Keep in mind: the best viewing spots will be reserved early. Picnics at Aquatic Park are allowed, while alcohol is not. After the fireworks end, expect heavy traffic and crowded public transit in the area. And be sure to dress in layers, as temperatures will drop after sunset — and make sure you leave your pets at home in a quiet place.
