Latimore is Tampa Bay soul music royalty, but it’s rare to see his name on a hometown bill. He makes his way to the local stage on Saturday, however, where he’ll be backed by “The St. Pete Florida Blues Band,” which was born when Roy Peter Clark crusaded for the Sunshine City to proclaim February 15 “Ray Charles Day.”

The blues band’s lineup — Clark and the Palladium Theater’s Paul Wilborn on keys, NPR critic Eric Deggans on drums, vocalist Lillian Dunlap, plus guitarists J.J. Pattishall and Dave Scheiber — is kind of a who’s who of local media and music scene personalities, so don’t be surprised to be left out of the show if you don’t cop tickets ahead of time.

Latimore. Sat. Aug. 17. 8 p.m. $18-$35. Hough Hall at Palladium Theater, St. Petersburg. mypalladium.org.
